The Story Behind the Movie

The story behind the Despicable Me movie is about Gru, a supervillain who steals the moon. He wants to find his long lost brother and together they will get their hands on all of the world’s money.

Gru’s boss, Vector (voiced by Steve Carell), hires two former henchmen of Gru named Margo and Eddy to take care of his minion’s children. However, things do not go as planned when Margo decides to keep the kids at her house instead of returning them to their father. She becomes very attached to them which makes Gru mad and he wants them back because he thinks that she doesn’t love him anymore.

Margo agrees but later on finds out that she is pregnant with one of Eddy’s children so she gives him up for adoption in exchange for her husband getting custody over all three kids. After this incident happens, everything goes wrong for Gru as he realizes that Margo has turned into a good person which makes him realize how much he loves her.
