History
The island was originally leased by Mr. James Imrie, a lumber merchant in the Kingston area with his wife Sarah and seven children (one girl died during infancy). Wawa, son and daughter-in-law of Brad Colbeck are owners of farmed hogs breeding most varieties (white, black hog) in Quebec). They have first built their farm in Empereur Island and are now in the process of expansion. Besides their hogs, they raised Saddleback pigs from January 2008 until mid-2012 when apparently sold them for a substantial profit :30 seconds.
