Jaws was about a man who fights against an unstoppable force of nature that becomes an ultimate weapon of its own when the shark begins to attack and kill people! The movie starts off with a man from Boston hunting for a great white shark in a small fishing town.
After killing it, everyone thinks it’s a freak accident, but it’s not. It’s just one of the many cats that are born in the reservoir. After nearly twenty years, the young Naval Officer Quint returns to the same town to do his annual training with sharks.

The story of the movie
Jaws is a very entertaining movie, directed by Steven Spielberg. It has the perfect amount of suspense and thriller that will keep you glued to your seat while watching it. The shark is brilliantly designed with amazing interactions between the man and animal especially at their last encounter when they fought each other in water or on land! One thing I like about this film was how perfectly done the anti-shark countermeasures were made for different situations (like sharks swimming through the streets and blood from sharks splattering on buildings).
The movie starts off with Quint, who is also an eccentric man. He has to go back to a place he had visited in his past as part of some training for shark hunting by eating brownies that are supposedly given him by God or something like this (through visions?). Being stationed at Boston Port when it comes time for battle against Jaws could have been done better, but still things are pretty believable.
While there the group of grizzled Navy men (except for Quint) try to figure out who was responsible for eating their friends and family in the past by bunching up over a radio heading back from shore telling them where Jaws is headed next or something like that, as if sharks weren’t smart enough to know what could be behind them doing so? I loved how Jaws displayed this vulnerability through trying very hard not to kill.
The climax of the movie
The climax of the movie is very brutal and a bit sad. The death of Quint’s two little kids was just too sad, even if he made it to them in time somehow. I also love how his last wish was that they didn’t become shark bait like other people (however this could be awfully harsh after all the sharks did save him several times earlier on!).
Sissy Spacek is perfectly cast as Ellen Brody (Quint’ wife). The messages about sharks that I got from this movie is just like, don’t be afraid of them and all of what might happen because there are still so many other kinds out there in the ocean to think about. My favorite part was everything with Quint trying to save his family under water as much as he could at times! Everything felt really surreal feeling underwater but it also added tension greatly when Jaws would pop up! This not only being a difficult way to go, but also quite realistic!
In conclusion I can say this movie as a whole is really good. However I do wish that it wasn’t so mean to Quint; while at the time he was clearly hated by most other people in town due both of his being an old navy guy and incredibly wealthy etc., however its just “too much” for me after some re-watchings because what about all those times where.
Cast and characters
The movie Jaws has a very interesting storyline and the actors who played the main characters are well known. The story revolves around a killer shark that is set free in the ocean and terrorizes the fishermen of Amity Island. The movie was released in 1975 and won many awards for its outstanding acting, direction, cinematography, and special effects.
Fishermen are one of the smallest paid jobs. So when three fishermen get eaten in different years, something has to change or Fisherman will be out of business… You can see this from the guy that owns a bait shop across from Steve Caplin’s new watercraft place (the guy who tells Quint about his former customers dying).
It was great for an old rusty beach house and all but what if it got bored?
