Reservoir Dogs is an American action crime film, released in 1992. It was written and directed by Quentin Tarantino, who also starred in its lead.

Inspired by the true story of an incident in which a gang of criminals held up a Los Angeles warehouse, it went on to win critical acclaim and became a cult classic. Looking back on the movie, two things stand out: the film’s story and the supporting characters played by Harvey Keitel and Tim Roth.

What Is the Story About Reservoir Dogs?

Plot

Reservoir Dogs is a 1992 American crime film written and directed by Quentin Tarantino. It is based on the manga of the same name, which was created by Tarantino’s friend and former roommate, Enzo Macleo (pen name: Christopher Smith). The film follows eight criminals who are held captive in a warehouse after one of their own plans to rob it.

The story revolves around an attempted diamond heist at a Los Angeles jewelry store, where four criminals plan to hold up the store’s staff, as well as its owner; however, they fail to account for one criminal — Mr. White (played by Harvey Keitel), who has inside information about their plan — and two police officers who are already inside with guns drawn.

Tarantino wrote Reservoir Dogs in five days while shooting Death Proof concurrently in early 2005, but he abandoned the script because he felt that it did not live up to his standards. After rewriting it from scratch, filming began on August 14, 2007.

Reservoir Dogs premiered at the Cannes Film Festival on May 23, 1992 and was released theatrically in August of that year. It grossed $48 million domestically against its $8 million budget, making it Tarantino’s most commercially successful film at that time.

The Climax of the Movie

climax

When the thieves break into the house, they begin to kill everyone inside. This is where the climax of Reservoir Dogs (1992) movie takes place.

In this scene, Mr Pink goes and kills Vincent Vega after he shoots Mr White in the leg. Then he kills Mr Blonde by smashing his head with a chair, while Joe Cabot stabs him in the neck with a screwdriver.

When Mr Orange gets shot by Mia in the stomach, he drops his gun and as it hits a glass bottle on the table, it shatters and shoots out blood which splashes on her face causing her to bleed to death. When she dies Vincent Vega tells Mr Orange that she was an innocent woman and he should have not done what he did.

That is why this part of Reservoir Dogs (1992) movie is called The Crescendo Scene because it has reached its climax when everybody who was present there got killed one by one until only one person remained alive – Mr Pink!

The Story Behind the Movie

Reservoir Dogs is a crime thriller film written and directed by Quentin Tarantino. It was released in 1992.

The movie is set in the aftermath of a diamond heist that takes place at a mob-owned jewelry store, after which the thieves are betrayed and their boss killed. A former cop and his criminal associates seek revenge on those responsible for the robbery, planning to use an inside man to kill them before they can testify against him.

This is one of my favorite movies because it makes me think about how crazy life really is! The cast includes Harvey Keitel, Tim Roth, Michael Madsen, Steve Buscemi, Chris Penn and Edward Bunker. The film has won multiple awards including two Academy Awards: Best Original Screenplay (Tarantino) and Best Supporting Actor (Keitel).

Overall Reviews

Reservoir Dogs is a very good movie. The main character of the movie is Mr. Blonde, played by Steve Buscemi. He is one of the best characters I have ever seen in any movie and he steals the show with his funny dialogue, witty remarks and deadly precision with a gun.

The rest of the cast includes Tim Roth as Mr Pink, Harvey Keitel as Mr White, Michael Madsen as Joe Cabot, Chris Penn as Nice Guy Eddie and Lawrence Tierney as Truck Driver. Each one of them has brought something unique to this film but I believe it was Christopher Walken who stole the show in this film because he had some excellent lines that kept me laughing throughout this film’s runtime.

It is not just an action-packed thriller but also touches on several important themes like friendship, revenge and betrayal.

In conclusion, Reservoir Dogs is a good movie! It deserves 5 stars out of 5 stars!
