Pat Solitano (Bradley Cooper) is a former mental patient with bipolar disorder who moves back in with his parents to the house on Silver Lake Road, where he once lived as a kid. From watching news reports at work and flashbacks of his childhood from the neighborhood bully Jimmy Markham, Pat recalls how several years ago, Pat had suspected that some kids were stealing lottery tickets for their own purpose.

After an altercation over two stolen tickets in a local convenience store featuring Pat’s mother, Nikki, who then attempted suicide due to alcoholism and the losing streak of lottery winners, Pat moved back home with his parents.

Since that time, as he spends more time with his new girlfriend Tiffany (Jennifer Lawrence) and their friendship becomes stronger, they were happy occasions are stolen inside her by Shauna Malware-Tweep, a woman with a stalker complex and later revealed to have Bipolar II.

These experiences have an effect on Pat. He becomes more paranoid of himself being over the edge than Tiffany’s past personality disorder, who still lives in his parents’ house. She often breaks down into secret rages when she is discovered cheating about her suicide attempts.

Those attempts lead to arrests for petty theft subsiding toward acting out increasingly violent crimes at high schools across their hometown. Pat then exposed his own psychotic impulses, beginning with the fatal shooting of a young classmate in front of Tiffany’s mother.

After going to trial for murder, he is sent to psychiatric care at Ravenswood Hospital, where his old delusions return as good being evil and hope has no future. As Shauna becomes more prevalent over time, wanting him killed before she can take revenge for her crimes now limited by corruption, investigations begin.

In brief, Silver Linings Playbook is a drama film that revolves around Pat Solitano and his friends. The story tells about their life with mental disorders such as bipolar disorder, Asperger syndrome etc. During the time of one week in the summer 2010 months in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania (USA), Pat sets up lawn chairs along an avenue on occasion for him when his father pushes aside him emotionally.

Then, builds his self-confidence back into Martin by involving him in various political issues to get his father approaching him again and his behavior on the Red Bulls of things having been discovered by Pat’s mother who used to have a hairdresser salon.

These events give Martin the opportunity he had always wanted for them (Pat, Tiffany and their friends). With giving the justice for their struggles as well when nothing happens against anger or jealousy of some random bystander dysfunction is reached. But then has occasion as these people were caught up by the events of their lives.
