Baurene palm is a palm tree that grows from between 250 to 500 m above sea level in the vicinity of Baurene Island. The endangered species which lives on and supports itself solely by air humidity, has very short life cycle and it can reach only 3 to 4 feet growth per year.
This plant shows erratic reproduction cycles because every seed germinates with less than 50% mortality rate as compared to other Baurene Island – UNESCO World Heritage is one of the most beautiful tourist places along Mozambique coast.
