Once Upon a Time… In Hollywood is the latest movie of American filmmaker Quentin Tarantino, starring Leonardo DiCaprio and Brad Pitt. This movie was released on 9th November 2019.

The storyline of this movie involves the story of an aging actor named Rick Dalton (Leonardo DiCaprio). He is known for his roles in Western movies and Hollywood movies as an aging cowboy star. However, now he is struggling to find his place in contemporary Hollywood.

In February 1969, Rick Dalton, star of the 1950s Western television series Bounty Law, felt his reputation was dying after a string of villainous guest appearances. Spaghetti Westerns in Italy, says agent and casting director Marvin Schwarz, are beneath him. Cliff Booth, Dalton’s closest buddy and stunt double, drives him about since his license has been revoked owing to D.U.I. offenses.

Booth has trouble finding a job due to allegations he killed his wife. Dalton dreams of contacting Sharon Tate and her husband, filmmaker Roman Polanski, restoring his career. That night, Tate and Polanski celebrated at the Playboy Mansion.

The following day, Booth recalls a fight he had with Bruce Lee on the set of The Green Hornet that cost him his job. Jay Sebring turns Charlie away from the Polanski mansion seeking Terry Melcher. After work, Tate visits the Fox Bruin Theater to see The Wrecking Crew.

Dalton gets cast as the villain in the Lancer pilot and meets his eight-year-old co-star Trudi Frazer. Dalton forgets his lines during shooting and has a nervous breakdown in his trailer. He then impresses Frazer and the Director, Sam Wanamaker.

Booth picks up “Pussycat” and brings her to Spahn Ranch, where he used to work on Bounty Law. He notices the numerous “hippies” there. Despite “Squeaky’s” misgivings, Booth checks on the ranch’s owner, George Spahn. Booth confronts Spahn, who rejects his worries. After leaving, Booth realizes “Clem” has punctured Dalton’s tire, so he beats him up and makes him fix it. “Tex” is called but comes as Booth drives away.

Schwarz casts Dalton in Sergio Corbucci’s spaghetti western Nebraska Jim after seeing him on The F.B.I. Dalton takes Booth to Italy for six months, where he takes three more pictures and marries Italian actress Francesca Capucci. Dalton tells Booth he can’t afford him.

The Climax of The Movie

The movie’s climax was really good, and I thought it was well done. It made the whole movie feel more action-packed and interesting. It had a tense and suspenseful buildup to the climax as it built up to Rick. Dalton was challenging his enemy.

It kept my attention throughout, and I thought that this movie made good use of all the action because cinema isn’t just about a car chase in Star Wars but also social commentary and other things like this, which is another reason I think that Once Upon A Time… Hollywood was creative with its plot.

The audience will see good or bad, and therefore, the audience can relate to them because we can help an actor in this adventure like Rick. There is a new addition of social commentary in this movie, which I thought was pretty good because it makes the audience think about what they should do to stay relevant in Hollywood as an aging actor like Rick Dalton.

Therefore, once again, I have concluded that Once Upon A Time… Hollywood (2019) had some amazing and beautiful action scenes throughout its plot and climax. Appeal-wise, I’d say that this movie appealed to young adults. I think that this movie has beautiful visuals, and the soundtrack was really good too, so it made an appeal for a wide audience.

The Story Behind the Movie

The story behind the movie is really interesting, and I found myself being drawn into it. It’s a great idea to have different perspectives of Hollywood celebrities because this gives the audience an insight into what it would be like to work with them, for example, Rick Dalton. Also, by providing social commentary, we can understand how Hollywood has changed over time which is also another good thing about this movie.

Furthermore, I thought that the climax was well thought out as it kept me on the edge of my seat, trying to guess what would happen next. Overall, I thought this movie was really good and if you have time check out Once Upon A Time… In Hollywood (2019), there are some amazing action scenes throughout its plot, which they desperately tried to achieve in a blockbuster film like this one, so that’s always great.

Appealing-wise, I’d say definitely for teenagers and young adults, whether they are fans of Hollywood or not, though. I would give Once Upon A Time… In Hollywood (2019), a 9/10, and it’s worth seeing because the actors were amazing, the cinematography was incredible, and the score was strong, so check this one out if you haven’t seen it yet!

Once Upon A Time In… Hollywood Ending

On their first night back in Los Angeles, Dalton and Booth go out for drinks and then return to Dalton’s residence. Meanwhile, Tate and Sebring dine with friends before returning to Tate’s. Booth smokes an LSD-laced cigarette and walks Brandy as Dalton makes cocktails.

Tex, Sadie, Katie, and Flowerchild approach Tate’s home to kill everyone, but Dalton hears their muffler and orders them off the street. Because Hollywood has “trained them to murder,” the Family members shift their intentions and kill him instead. “Flowerchild” flees with their automobile. They confront Capucci and Booth at Dalton’s residence.

Tarantino once said that people should understand how the film reflects their own life by watching “a lot of my movies because I am very ‘meta.’ The main story path looked like a high-speed car chase, but Tarantino says he will never use this form in any film and prefers some slower pace.

He saw it as an homage to John Melius’s “Conan The Barbarian” (1982), which was also about an aging actor struggling with his past who then aided other actors trying to erase their legacy while seeking revenge against those they idolized and feared, like in “Once Upon a Time.”

‘Once Upon a Time in Hollywood’ seemed like a fantastic picture from the start. Even though Quentin Tarantino’s films have been inconsistent in recent years, his finest work, such as ‘Reservoir Dogs’ and, notably, ‘Pulp Fiction,’ are masterpieces. Many outstanding performers make up the cast. It looked wonderful in the advertisements, and who can resist that title? The fact that it was one of the year’s most well-received pictures added to the intrigue.

‘Once Upon a Time in Hollywood,‘ although not flawless, was as good as I had anticipated. One of Tarantino’s greatest pictures in recent years in terms of directing, screenplay, and overall filmmaking, and one of 2019’s best films, it’s good reaction was well-deserved. It’s unmistakably Tarantino in a positive manner, and it’s a terrific depiction of the cast, with several of them providing some of their greatest performances in recent years.

I’ll start with the very, very few things that didn’t exactly work for me. Some pacing might have been tighter, particularly for a film of this length, and not every scene seemed required. Regardless of how enthralling the production values and Margot Robbie’s (that grin is beautiful) performance were, I would have cut part or all of Sharon Tate in the film. I thought the Bruce Lee caricature and interaction were highly offensive, and nobody upset can be faulted.

That seems like a movie deserving of a 7 or 8 out of 10. On the other hand, the wonderful aspects were so spectacular, and the picture was on a different level than many other films released this year, that giving ‘Once Upon a Time in Hollywood’ any of those marks seemed too low to me. It looks fantastic, dazzlingly shot with pictures brimming with atmosphere, and beautifully edited with a perfectly reproduced time.

Tarantino directs with assurance, and his particular style is evident throughout. The music is utilized seldom, but it is incredibly impactful when it is. Particularly disturbing is the usage of “Twelve Thirty” in a setting that is already unsettling.

Music in The Film

It is a compilation CD of vintage rock that contains various songs by Paul Revere & the Raiders and 1960s radio advertising and DJ D.J. The film soundtrack is available on iTunes as a free download. In addition to the songs and compositions by artists such as The Mamas & the Papas and Elmer Bernstein, the film has a slew of other songs and scores that were not featured on the album.

The Cinematography and Visual Effects

If you look closely enough, some can deceive your eye into thinking the red blood flow is coming from a creepy-looking corpse in shadow. Suppose you have seen many Tarantino movies, especially for people who love watching all his works.

In that case, these visuals and cinematography will not surprise you like comedy or anything else. Still, if I were to describe them separately, they would be distinctively different with pure visual effects/cinematography! With explosions, mayhem and bloodshed swarming around the screen at stressful moments is not something you expect from Pulp Fiction that would make it stand out compared to other movies.

So, this part of the Director’s passion lingers on for about 30 minutes or so in the second hour, making anything look “different.”  Again, as if I were comparing Tarantino films with Filmmakers like Quentin Tarantino VS Stanley Kubrick or David Lean, which has been widely talked about before by many Commentators or director’s similar works between each other.
