Audience analysis
A scene made me believe they were ripping off Lord of the Rings, with Snow White as Frodo. The film did not leave an impression on me. Recently, remaking great old cartoons into live-action movies has been a very popular practice. That was also done with “Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs,” but it’s being revamped, and Eric, the Huntsman, will play a far larger part this time.
This film continually reminds you that you are witnessing a remake of an ancient fairytale, but with some alterations, but we don’t need to be told of that since we can see it and the only thing that is practically the same are some of the characters. Some of the characters we recognize and then don’t are Snow White and the Huntsman. Then there are the dwarfs, but they have been altered in a negative way.
The performances by Chris Hemsworth and Charlize Theron are fantastic, and they truly hit it out of the park, despite the fact that the script doesn’t do much to support the characters. Kristen Stewart is great in the film, although her acting differs just little from her dreadful portrayal in the “Twilight Saga” films. The film isn’t really excellent, and it doesn’t improve no matter how many times you see it.
