A couple of weeks ago, my family and I visited the local cineplex to watch a movie. It was one of those movies with a lengthy runtime that we’d not seen before. This particular screening was more like an extravaganza than an actual film; there were multiple shows running at the same time. As such, it took quite some time for the film to start.

They live happily together until the son comes home one day and tells them they are being sold to raise money for the mother-in-law’s failing business.

Chicken Run is a 2010 American action adventure comedy film that was released by Walt Disney Pictures and directed by Chris Williams.

It stars Mel Gibson as the voice of Rhodey who runs with his fellow chickens trying to hide from Farmer Brown when they discover something new – their barn mates have dreamed about escaping through holes in the fence! After being hired for work at Chicken George Farm ( the farm where the animals live), Rhodey and his friends try to escape from Farmer Brown when they discover something new – their barn mates have dreamed about escaping through holes in the fence!

The chickens get lucky when two of Farmer Brown’s fox farm workers are accidently put into a barrel after a close call while delivering crops, which will stay as long as they need if he can keep them there forever.

They find out however that the chickens are corralled in the chicken run and can’t get out. Then, with all four fox farm workers now living inside a barrel, Farmer Brown decides to have them wreak havoc on his other animals like guinea pigs being used for dissection. Rhodey is sent to collect eggs from every flock of cloistered hens while also having stolen some himself (the farmers aren’t too smart).

Storyline Of The Movie Chicken Run

Storyline Of The Movie Chicken Run

A group of chickens are put to work at a chicken farm with the goal being that they will evade Farmer Brown (Jack McElhaney) and his henchmen while he tries to steal their eggs.

The chickens see many bad things happening on their old master’s little farm, often involving some other animals or children in seeing the chickens as something different than what it seems for them. These incidents escalate until French Poodle George pulls through and is able to help the chickens with their predicament by pulling off what and where ever he wants, until Farmer Brown does the same.

At this point, he tries everything in his power to stop them and ultimately succeeds in getting rid of all but one hen named Tanya (Paris Hilton) who has become a mother of many chicks (chickens). He takes her too as well because she kept laying eggs after “sailing out on him” and who, if they were put on a farm by humans, would have been raised for food.

The chickens now escape from the chicken yard with Tanya and attach themselves to Spiker (John O’Hurley) and his dogs tracking them without being seen all that much but at least awhile until Farmer Brown has him dug up later on to dig out more of their whereabouts. They get farther away from farmer’s advances but are run down by a truck and are damaged.

They run into trouble in the water after being caught by duck that doesn’t give up so easily and knows better than to let them go back, or does he? So many of his henchman come out for one reason or another with none working together as well as they did before but eventually both groups decide to close off on their own ways thinking someone is just trying their best to keep them an expense for their business.

Ruling the farmers come back to the scene with a large number of men and women out for anyone that knows how many chickens are running loose in this part of River City, all because they provided them two before, one being Tanya’s after Paris Hilton gave her up herself.

They use human disguises on everyone but Farmer Brown was smart enough to not show himself at first as he knew it may be something else besides something chasing them like he would have thought. The chicken plan was to use Mr. Corrigan as a sacrifice and hire Farmer Brown’s son (who is rather handsome in my book) for more henchmen but since they plan E works out instead.

It’s full of action, dramatic scenes, humor and emotions portrays a rooster as an animal that helps his fellow chickens to fly away from their cruel owner. He also teaches them how to fight against humans so they can have freedom in this world. Where everyone gets killed if anyone attacks the human race even a rooster has been hunted down but he don’t show up everywhere like a normal rooster.

Film Humor

The story revolves around two hedgehog brothers nicknamed nick and snout with their amazing adventures which make them famous as Chicken Run.

Chicken Run is about chickens that escape from the farm where they’ve been raised for food and end up hiding out on a chicken run with plenty of other animals. Poultry expert Ginger Jones tries to capture them, but “chickens are tricky” as he will find out in this animation/comedy movie

Short Review

Short Review

The story is set in a countryside where farmers live from the year 1890 and one day many of them are turned to sleeping. This movie will make you laugh because of this specific animated comedy film about it, that’s why I give it 4 stars for its humor content (quality) but only 3,5 1/2 because animation has become slower like before time being 8 years ago when shown on TV back then.

Story (2.5) The good thing is that this type of movie doesn’t require a lot of thought because everyone knows the premise, great but characterizations needs to be more recognized by people like I said in the beginning or you see it and go: “Hmm… where have we seen those nutty looking characters before?”

The actors good in this are of course Owen Wilson and Zach Galifianakis but both did a very bad job on their roles. In my opinion no one could replace Steve Carell, who’s “up there” with anyone else whom I understand make funny animated comedy films because they’re so versatile; still Owen is not bad since he can be dramatic at times like Good Will Hunting.

I like this movie because they had the good idea to go back 30 years ago and show animations according that old-fashioned movies look on TV back then, just didn’t wanna see them out of focus or smudged up with digital effects which can do a lot better than computerized animation.

There is not much room for improvement but having a British dubbing script was cool although it’s big capitalization was over-acting making people speechless to some lines mocking English accent but the funny dialogue was hard at first when trying to read it quick.

The only place where I am disappointed is that Pinocchio whic used to be a puppet and became flesh because he’s not human will remain forever in stone form as any other animated characters although his nose/tail were looking real good incorporated into this movie, so they why they didn’t make

him a puppet again I don’t know.

All in all it’s a cute movie for the whole family with good laughs and an enjoyable story, worth seeing on the big screen. The movie is chock full of great jokes, and I’d say the biggest ones are definitely miranda richardson’s character and babs. Rocky rhodes did a good job as well especially in his final speech(in which he mentions miranda richardson).

The plot is original, it’s not very common to see chickens (which can be seen as insignificant) trying to flee from their owners, but with this strange adaptation of an old story.

Conclusion

The movie Chicken Run is a wonderful story of an Australian chicken that must escape from the clutches of the evil British during World War II. The actors are excellent and the storyline is very compelling. It’s one of those movies that you’ll enjoy if you don’t think too much about it, which makes it great for children as well as adults.

The storyline of the film was not great. But the acting was very good and it is worth watching if you like this genre. It is available on Netflix for $4.99 so it can be watched in HD quality.
